Resizing images for the web

Paul Hodgson commented about learning a new technique, so I jumped and insisted he tell us all about it...

Not sure how to optimise the file size versus quality balance? Here Paul Hodgson shares insight gained from fellow Exposure Leeds member – Mark Skeet.

The video is 15 minutes long but it does cover 4 different pieces of software from Lightroom to Capture NX2.

And here’s an example resized image from that shoot utilising the steps discussed in the video.  This image was converted using NX2 direct from the 18meg NEF (RAW) file.  After resizing the file became 105kb with very little loss of quality, certainly not so great that you can tell across the internet.
