Talk&Social | Robert Norbury

Following on from our summer 'home tourist' theme, Robert comes to share with us an insight into dérive and his artistic practices of being a wandering photographer.

I am a flaneur – a photographer who wanders with a camera taking pictures of whatever his mind, body and eye have been trained to. You can follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.

I am based in Meltham, West Yorkshire in the heart of the Pennines right on the edge of the Peak District National Park.  I do tuition and workshops.

This year I won a street photography competition organised by The National Portrait Gallery, London.

My images have been used on book jackets here and abroad for Penguin books.  My images are available via Millenium Images and Wildcard Images

NOTE: As part of this event we are also running our own take on the Secret Santa – the Exposure Leeds printswap!

  1. Come to Talk&Social
  2. Bring a print with you.
    On the back write your name and email/web/blog etc. We suggest you produce a photographic print of a piece of your own work that you are proud of from 2012 – sized between 10×8 and 16 x 12 – and printed ‘properly’)
  3. Enjoy the talk, during which the Exposure Leeds elves will magically turn these into an impromptu exhibition which will be revealed at the end of the talk.
  4. Select the print you want to take home (by way of a special marker, we will supply) and peruse the rest of the exhibition (with a mince pie/festive treat)

  • When: Wednesday 7th December – from 6.00pm-9.00pm (talk starts around 6.30pm)
  • Where: Old Broadcasting House, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds LS2 9EN - Directions (note: Woodhouse Lane car park closes at 9pm)
  • Entry: £3* (includes hot drink, subject to availability) – Exposure Leeds supporters get free entry.
