Shoot&Social: A home tourist special

We're out of the classroom and on the streets - come along and help us create a home tourist 'zine' in an evening. Exciting!?!

It’s the summer holidays and we shouldn’t really be in the ‘classroom’! So we’re heading out into big old Leeds to take part in a one-off Home Tourism challenge.

If you’re unawares of our Summer 2011 focus, then head over to the introduction page, but if you’re all on board for exploring your home city with new eyes then read on…

Our plan is… with the most basic of notes/instructions we will, in small teams dash around the city centre in a pseudo-Anneka Rice/Treasure Hunt fashion aiming to take interesting, exciting and intriguing shots of key buildings, places and landmarks around the city centre which will then be collated, posted in an online gallery and combined into a ‘zine’ – which will be printed.

What’s a zine? It’s a simple, cheaply produced, mini magazine – often A5 format; originally produced on photocopiers manually… we’ll probably be going a little more high tech but we will be printing a limited edition run of them!
