As part of Exposure Leeds’ remit to develop photography in the region, we are undertaking a series of short workshops on specialist areas, aimed at using knowledge within the group to allow those with no experience to try a new area of the art.
This first workshop session is designed for those who have yet to undertake a model shoot and are looking to do so. Those interested in more general portraiture should also find this workshop of use.
Format
By way of introduction to the day you will be led through a theoretical overview to working with models. This will covering key terms, places to source models and the basics of shoot arrangement and etiquette.
This will be followed by three one-hour practical, tutor-led photo shoots in which delegates broken into small groups and will rotate through the tutors/models. For example: one tutor may work with outdoors natural light and single flash; another with multiple flash (also outdoors) and a third indoors in a pseudo studio setup.
A light lunch will be provided after the first shoot; please indicate any dietary requirements when booking.
We will aim to have at least 3 models and a make-up artist on hand for the duration of the event. Lighting equipment will be demonstrated; but you may wish to bring use your own. The only equipment you should bring is a digital SLR (or other hot-shoe equipped camera) – loan cameras will not be available.
