We had a small collection as part of this session – here’s the email from the donation to Tearfund:
DATE: 13 May 2010
Dear Mr Eland
Thank you so much for your gift of £40.00 to bring vital aid to the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti. Your donation is helping our local church partners in Haiti to respond to some of the most urgent needs; providing temporary shelters to those made homeless, and food, clean water and sanitation.
Please pray for the international response to the earthquake and for those directing it. Pray also for Tearfund staff and partners as they deal with their own losses and work to help others. Pray for the church in Haiti to be able to give a response of love, care and hope to the population.
Thank you again for your generosity, which will help to save lives.
Yours in Christ
