Photo Week Daily Photo challenges

A couple of years back an event called ‘Midsummer Madness’ ran. This involved issuing several photo challenges; we’ve often had a call for it’s return and here, as part of Leeds Photo Week is that very pheonix…

Each day we’ll issue a theme or subject for you to photograph – this will be linked with Leeds Photo Week in some way – but will also be easy for anyone to take part in! Each day we’ll select a winner who’ll get a photography book and an additional photography-related prize – an overall winner will get their photo turned into a 40” x 20” canvas print by Snappy Snaps Leeds and 5 runners-up will win 50 6″x4″ prints from Jacobs Leeds.

All you have to do is…

  • Work out what image you want to take
  • Take it on any camera – mobile phone, film camera, compact, slr – whatever you choose and send it to use by any of these methods…
    • On flickr.com, post them to the Exposure Leeds group – remember to say which challenge you’re submitting it to in the description!
    • On facebook, post the images to the Leeds Photo Week group
    • You can also send them by Email or Mobile phone (MMS) – to [tbc] – ensure you include your name!
  • Keep an eye out on the site – we’ll quickly create mini galleries of images submitted – ahead of announcing winners. Why not join in by giving constructive feedback!

  • Do the photo challenge pics have to be new pics taken on that day?
    No – any time from when they are set and the closing date – 14th September
  • Can I supply photos shot before the challenge was set?
    We’d love to see them – but we’re looking to reward new works created for this challenge

You have until 14th September to submit your images for each of the challenges to be in with a chance of one of the prizes. Only the first image by any individual will be accepted. All winners will be announced on the Exposure Leeds website. Any images submitted may be used on our website or associated web pages or in a promotional publication or exhibition. We will assume your submission signals your willingness for us to use your images in this way and to waive any payment for the above uses through to 31 Dec 2011. You retain full ownership of your images to use elsewhere and we will aim to appropriately credit all images wherever possible.We have no rights to and will never offer your images to their parties for any purpose. And, to quote Google, we will not be evil.
