Challenge: Capture Kirkstall Festival

As part of our ongoing project for 2010/1 to record people’s use of Kirkstall Abbey I’m very happy to announce a new, associated project.

Kirkstall Festival will celebrate it’s 30th event this year and, to ensure this – one of Leeds’ longest continually run galas – is recorded effectively we have been challenged to attend and record the event.

On 10th July those interested in taking part in recording this volunteer-run should record the whole of the day.

The images will be used in a number of ways…

  • In a special section in ‘Kirkstall Matters’ – the magazine of Kirkstall Valley Community Association (with a circulation of 1000 copies)
  • On display in a special exhibition at East Street Arts’ Patrick Studios
  • Collated into a photobook documenting the event.

In addition a series of ‘best in show’ images will be selected.

More information will be announced nearer the time – for now you may wish to put the date in your diary.
